New Comcast Coverage

Comcast is extending its telecommunications services to Tinmouth and two other towns in Vermont for the first time. The extension is part of 220 miles of fiber-optic line extensions that Comcast will build this year that will touch 53 communities in the state.

Comcast vowed Monday to extend its high-speed Internet network in Vermont an additional 300 miles next year, putting the state a few steps closer to ensuring universal coverage by the end of 2010. The Philadelphia-based company announced at a Statehouse news conference that it plans to expand into the towns of North Hero, Grand Isle, South Hero, Woodford and Brookline along with extending its network to unserved parts of Westford and West Rutland.
