Small-Scale Rural Wireless Infrastructure Development

The VTA seeks information about investments it may be able to make to support wireless infrastructure with the following characteristics:

1. A significantly lower capital cost to deploy per site than conventional cellular base station. (Especially desirable are solutions which can be deployed for less than $50,000 per site.)
2. Suitable for deployment on low-cost non-tower structures (for example, at the top of utility pole-type structures with appropriate line of sight, or other types of existing structures requiring minimal construction cost).
3. Capable of using IP-based backhaul, especially low-cost business-grade Internet connections.
